 CONTEXT

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a Senior Assessment Officer to lead frontline and emergency assessments in Ukraine. Based in Dnipro or Kyiv, the role focuses on rapid, issue-based research responding to emerging humanitarian needs, access constraints and operational information gaps.

Working within the Humanitarian Needs Monitoring Unit, the Senior Assessment Officer will manage a portfolio of frontline assessments from research design and data collection through analysis, dissemination and learning. The role includes line management of assessment staff.

A central part of the position is developing equitable partnerships with Ukrainian civil society organisations. The Senior Assessment Officer will co-design assessments with partners, support joint analysis and dissemination, and lead practical capacity building, mentoring and technical support to strengthen partners’ ability to independently design, implement and use research.

The position also involves regular engagement with humanitarian coordination structures and operational actors to identify priority information needs and ensure findings directly inform access, targeting, contingency planning, service delivery and response prioritisation.

Candidates should bring strong qualitative research and analytical skills, experience managing research in humanitarian settings, team-management experience, and demonstrated experience working with Ukrainian civil society organisations and supporting partner capacity. Fluency in Ukrainian and English is required.

This is an opportunity to shape frontline humanitarian analysis while strengthening locally led research and evidence use in Ukraine.

Apply now to join IMPACT and support evidence-based humanitarian action in frontline areas.
